The Mackay Region

Freshwater fishing in the Mackay Region is spectacular. The picturesque Pioneer Valley inland of Mackay offers a smorgasboard of options. Just head west from Mackay to find Kinchant, Teemburra and Eungella Dams which are known as some of the best fishing spots in the world for large barramundi and sooty grunter.
